Arc of the Arts Studio & Gallery provides an artistic bridge between people with developmental disabilities and the community. In the Traber Studio we teach art to individuals with developmental disabilities. Clients sell their exceptional art in the adjoining Cool Family Gallery, and also receive pre-employment skills training. In addition, we have museum-like souvenir items, featuring reproductions of some of our clients’ best artwork, i.e., coffee mugs, calendars and note cards. We are located at 6717 Burnet Road in Austin, Texas, and are open Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Stop by for a visit!
The mission of The Arc of the Capital Area is to provide personalized, community-based services that improve the quality of life for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (i.e., autism, mental retardation, cerebral palsy, and Down syndrome), and their caregivers. The Arc is viewed as the go-to organization for people with disabilities in Central Texas, and the most instrumental organization at increasing the self-sufficiency of people with disabilities, developing and strengthening the care-giving abilities of their families, and promoting community awareness of disability issues. We offer a full array of services to more than 2,000 adults, children and families a year.
