“Harolds Very Bad Day” was visualized, storyboarded, voiced, and directed by Jennifer M. Be sure to check out the process below the video!
Here you can see the process behind Jennifer’s idea. She began with a storyboard sequence of Harold and his misfortunes.
Jennifer worked alongside staff to import her drawing into Flash, a program used for animation. Using her original drawings, the animation moved along as Jennifer decided how long each section of events would take and at what point new objects would enter the screen.
You’ll notice that the end of Jennifer’s storyboard shows Harold falling into mud. Jennifer decided to end on a more positive note, having “The Arc Cloud” take the rainy cloud away and leaving Harold with a shining sun and a song in his heart.
