Acrylic Painting With The Rosedale School

Week 2

For our second class with the TLC students we pre-painted several canvases so the artists could choose to either work from a blank canvas or get a head start on one with a background already provided. The teachers created an adaptive art tool (pictured below), by attaching sponges to an empty laundry detergent bottle for students with limited fine motor skills or issues with spasticity that make holding a paint brush difficult.

The artists once again impressed us with their varied and inspired takes on the lesson. The finished projects ranged from abstract colorscapes to carefully constructed cartoons to collage on canvas.
